Granby Police, Fire and EMS are proud to join the Massachusetts State 911 Department’s statewide coalition to share potentially lifesaving information about three important programs:
• Silent Call Procedure: If you can’t speak, you can still be heard. This procedure helps people reach emergency services when speaking isn’t safe or possible.
• Text-to-911: Call if you can—text if you can’t. Text messaging provides a way to contact 911 when a voice call isn’t an option.
• Massachusetts Equipment Distribution Program (MassEDP): Specialized telephone equipment is available at little or no cost to eligible Massachusetts residents with disabilities that affect their ability to use a standard telephone.
The campaign focuses on residents age 60 and older, but this information can benefit people of all ages. Please share it with family, friends, and neighbors—especially anyone who may have difficulty using a standard telephone.
